This Privacy Policy describes how Loona Brands ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use the NoteFren mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password.
  • Authentication Data: If you use Sign in with Apple, we may receive certain profile information (e.g., name, email).
  • User Profile: Any profile details you choose to provide (display name, photo, etc.).

Content You Create

  • Images and Photos: Photos you take or upload for note scanning and flashcard creation.
  • Audio Recordings: Voice recordings used to generate flashcards from spoken content.
  • Text Content: Handwritten notes processed via OCR, plus any text you manually enter.
  • Flashcards & Study Materials: Questions, answers, categories, and associated metadata.
  • Study Data: Your session history, progress metrics, performance statistics, streaks, etc.

Device & Usage Information

  • Device Identifiers: Unique device IDs, for analytics and crash reporting.
  • Device Info: Device model, OS version, app version.
  • Permissions Data: Data tied to camera, microphone, photo library access (when granted).
  • App Usage Data: How you interact with the App, features used, timestamps, session durations.
  • Performance & Crash Reports: Error logs, performance metrics, diagnostic data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following purposes:

Core Functionality

  • Note Processing: Convert your handwritten notes or audio into digital text and flashcards.
  • Study Engine: Provide adaptive learning, study sessions, progress tracking, and recommendations.
  • Account & Syncing: Manage your account and synchronize data across your devices.

Improvement & Analytics

  • Product Improvement: Enhance features, fix bugs, and refine UX.
  • Usage Analytics: Aggregate insights into how users interact with the App.
  • Crash & Diagnostic Reporting: Identify and correct stability issues.

Communication

  • Account Notifications: Important updates regarding your account or the App.
  • Support: Respond to your inquiries or support requests.
  • Marketing (if opted in): Occasional promotional emails (you may opt out).

3. Third-Party Services & Integrations

We use several third-party services to support App functionality:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, database (Firestore), cloud functions, storage, and crash reporting.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription and in-app purchase management, analytics.
  • Google Vision API: Optical character recognition (OCR) for converting images to text.
  • Apple Services:

These third parties may process your data in accordance with their own privacy and security practices.

4. Data Storage, Security & Retention

Storage

  • Local Storage: Some data is cached locally on your device for offline access.
  • Cloud Storage: Flashcards, study data, and other content are stored securely in cloud services (e.g., Firebase).
  • Retention: We retain your data as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide services.

Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest (where supported).
  • Access controls and authorization guard access to your data.
  • Authentication uses industry-standard security practices.
  • We conduct periodic security reviews and updates to protect data integrity and confidentiality.

5. Your Rights & Choices

Account Controls

  • You can access and update your account information at any time.
  • You may request an export of your personal data.
  • You can delete your account and all associated data, subject to retention limitations.

Device Permissions

  • You may revoke camera, microphone, or photo-library permissions in your device settings.
  • If permissions are revoked, certain features may no longer function.

Communications

  • You may opt out of marketing emails.
  • Account-related notifications are still necessary for service operation.

6. Children's Privacy

NoteFren is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can delete it.

7. International Users & Cross-Border Transfers

If you use NoteFren outside the U.S., be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our backend systems or service providers operate.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version within the App and update the "Last Updated" date. Please review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
